My research investigates the translation strategies of sex-related language (SRL) in
teenage literature (teenlit) and young adult (YA) novels about rape and sexual assault from English into Indonesian which were published between 2005 and 2022. The aim of this research is to understand the practice of how translators, editors, and Indonesian authors publish novels with sensitive themes and language in Indonesia. I utilised data gathered from interviews, self-built corpora of 15 novels, and textual analysis of selected scenes about sexual assault from the novels. The findings of this research
will uncover the trend of the translation of SRL in Indonesia over the time period considered and the sociocultural aspects that may influence the translation.
